You’ve Got a Teen Driver!

It happened!  All the sudden you have a teenager who is about to start driving. Yes, you are so proud of them for making it this far yet you are terrified as well. Choosing their first car doesn’t have to be a horrifying experience. You have to find the best way to give them a vehicle they will love and keep them safe.  Keeping them safe being the most important part but if they like it hopefully they will take care of it.  You will have plenty of options here at Anderson Ford no matter what budget you are looking to stay in.

For most parents their main goal is to find a safe/reliable vehicle for their first time driver. They want this car too last at least through high school and into college. Ford vehicles are a great place to start.  Ford has a wide variety of cars, trucks and SUV’s that hold their value well and are top safety rated!

When it comes to safety nothing but the best and safest for your teen driver.  It is suggested that you buy the most recent used car you can afford.  Vehicle safety has improved so much over the years so by buying as new as you can you are assured to have the best safety features. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety publishes a list of used cars recommended for teens.  Among the Fords listed were the Taurus, Fusion, Edge, Escape and Flex. They all have excellent safety features, great style and ride.  And parents… no high-horsepower Mustangs – not yet! Wait until they are responsible to handle it.

Congrats to your newly driving teen!  Anderson Ford wishes them the best of luck and just a little advice.  Keep your mind on what you are doing, no texting, no distracted driving.  Stay Safe!!

3 Best Mustang Upgrades
Ford Mustangs have withstood the tests of time because of their amazing capacity for speed, their smooth ride, and their sleek exterior. Indeed, under the hood, Mustang engine power ranges from 101 horsepower to 390 horsepower or more. The Mustang was introduced at the NY World’s Fair on April 17, 1964 — 22,000 of them were immediately snatched up. The much loved model has evolved through time, but remains iconic.
Mustangs are also a favorite among racers throughout the country. With just a few key upgrades, you can enter the age of Mustang racing, by installing Ford Mustang performance parts. For those who have a need for speed, these Mustang performance mods are essential. Check out the best Mustang upgrades here:
1. Cold Air Intake
This the first thing anyone should do if they are seeking to upgrade their Mustang. Even the most novice Mustang owner can replace their stock air box with a cold air intake. They are easy to install, and can take as little as 30 minutes to complete. This replacement is also inexpensive, and it is a great way to pick up extra power and increased efficiency. Indeed, a cold air intake can bring you around +15HP and an increase of 1-2 MPG.
2.Aluminum Driveshaft
Replacing your Mustang’s OEM steel driveshaft can improve performance in many ways. First of all, you will reduce power loss throughout the drivetrain by 2-4%, and in addition, there will be a weight reduction of almost 20 pounds. This replacement will result in a quicker acceleration and throttle response. You’ll enjoy a reduction of noise and vibration.
3. Cat-Back Exhaust
A cat-back replaces the stock exhaust from behind the catalytic converters, typically all the way to the exhaust tips. Indeed, your aftermarket cat-backs will shed about half of the weight of the stock exhaust, it will flow better, and it also will change the sound of your newly upgraded Mustang.
Don’t compromise on these easy to install and reasonably priced upgrades, designed for increasing horsepower and making your Mustang a racing machine. Why Should You Get Your Car Serviced At The Dealership?

Oil-FillUp  TireRotation
Should you get your car serviced at the dealership, or go to an independent shop? Lots of Central Illinois drivers face this question –  the local garage might quote you a better price, but are they really reliable enough to be worth it? At our service center, you can count on the highest-quality work every single time. Here’s a few of the reasons why!

Advantages of Dealership Service
•     Ford-trained staff — Our service techs are knowledgeable about all makes and models, but we’re Ford experts. Because we’re a Ford dealership, we’re familiar with all your Ford’s little quirks, all the things that might take a more generalist mechanic some extra time to figure out. Also, we’re always training and staying up-to-date on the  latest Ford vehicles.
•     Genuine Ford parts — When we fix your car, we’ll only use genuine Ford parts that are specifically designed for your exact model. Aftermarket parts may be cheap, but they just don’t match the same kind of quality and engineering standards.

Schedule Your Service Appointment Online!

•     Sophisticated tools – In this day and age, when every car is a computer, it’s extra-important to choose a service center with the modern technology to match. Just like our up-to-date
training, we’ll always have all the up-to-date computers and equipment we need to run diagnostics on your Ford. Independent garages can’t always afford this tech – theirs might be out of date, or they might just be guessing.
•     Maintenance plans and extended warranties — If you bought your car from us, you’ll already know about all the long-term benefits you can get when you keep coming back to us for maintenance and repairs.
•     Free popcorn – does the corner garage provide fresh popcorn while you’re waiting for your oil change? Yeah, we didn’t think they would.
